-Physiotherapy in general medicine and surgery

Fourth year subjects of BPT
-Neuro Surgery
-Medical Ethics
-Physiotherapy in cardio disorders
-Physiotherapy in Respiratory Disorder

After completion of the fourth year examination students have to go for 6 months internship. This internship covers all Department equally such as Orthopedics, Neurology, General Surgery, General Medicine, and Physiotherapy.

Physiotherapy is a health-care discipline which focuses on individuals at all stages of the lifespan, both in health and in times of illness or injury, with the aim of optimising movement, functional ability and health. The discipline takes a holistic approach which encompasses physical, psychological, emotional and social wellbeing in a range of diverse practice settings. These include: adult and paediatric hospitals; primary and community care teams; rehabilitation centres; nursing and residential homes; health promotion programmes; sport clubs, and private practice.

The World Congress of Physical Therapy identifies four core areas for practice :

  • Promotion
  • Prevention
  • Treatment/Intervention
  • Rehabilitation

The cores of activities are enhancing the understanding, measurement and promotion of function, performance, wellbeing and health. These activities are mainly takes place in primary, secondary or tertiary healthcare settings, sports workplace and other community settings.

The Job scope and opportunities for BPT:

  • Can work as a Physiotherapist. Physiotherapists have to deal with patients suffering from physical deformities.

  • Sports is also a good area where Physiotherapists cam build a career.

  • Consultant for old age people. As age goes old muscles and bones related problem comes naturally.

  • Rehabilitation specialist. Patients, who’ve had surgeries (such as neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, broken bone surgeries, and fractures) are subjected to rehabilitation after the surgery.

  • Physiotherapists are also recruited by Private clinics, Government hospitals, Private and Government Nursing homes, Community Health Center,

  • NGOs, Sports Teams, and Franchises, Gyms, Fitness clinics etc.
